Sault’s man faces several charges after the traffic stop on Highway 17

A Sault Ste. Marie’s husband is facing several charges after an incident on Highway 17 in the municipality of Nairn-Hyman, near Spain.

The Manitoulin detachment of the OPP responded to a report of a vehicle apparently unable to maintain the lane in which it was traveling at variable speed.

During the subsequent traffic stop, officers determined that the driver was intoxicated and was arrested.

Keith Nardi, a 45-year-old man from Sault Ste. Marie was accused of:

  • Impaired functioning: alcohol and drugs, contrary to section 320.14 (1) (a) of the Penal Code (CC)
  • Failure to comply or refusal to comply with the lawsuit, contrary to article 320.15 (1) of the CC
  • Speeding from 1 to 49 km / h above the established limit, contrary to Article 128 of the Road Traffic Act (HTA)
  • The driver does not deliver the license, contrary to Article 33 (1) of the HTA
  • Sign of disobedience, contrary to Article 182 (2) of the HTA
  • Having unmarked cigarettes, contrary to section 29 (2) of the Tobacco Tax Act

He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Spanish on July 4, 2022.
