Young Australian gunman Alou Kuol has made his name in the spotlight after scoring one of the most impressive goals in the country’s football history.
Representing Australia in the AFC Asian Under-23 Cup in Uzbekistan, Kuol’s incredible goal helped his team to a 1-1 draw against Iraq.
The incredible end of the 20-year-old came in the first half discount time. He was placed in the area ready to accept a cross from Josh Rawlins, but when the cross seemed to have floated over his head, Kuol contorted his body to hit the ball with a scorpion heel kick.

“I was running forward and I saw the ball going after me, and I just thought,‘ Yeah, let’s do it, ’” Kuol said, according to the Socceroos website.

“I couldn’t do anything else, so I hit him and he came out.
“About 10? I would give him a five. It’s normal. He just gives me the same ball and I’ll do it again!
“I’m lying, it was beautiful.”
However, despite his incredible efforts, Kuol was disappointed with the overall result.
“Glad to get a point, but it’s a disappointing result, 100%,” Kuol said.
“We were up and we had to move on, but in the end Iraq was lucky to come away with a point.”
