I will not rate this.
The pre-game montage is about the Warriors: the narration has shifted towards them as those whose series is at stake. The Celtics have somehow done their job to ensure a road separation, so the pressure is on the Warriors.
Interestingly, that’s why I have Golden State, I don’t trust Boston when they start to feel good about themselves, that’s when they start making unforced mistakes and … wait, am I describing myself here too?
I hope to recover from this accidental personal vision in time for Opening Tip, which will arrive soon.
One note, the T-shirts the Celtics and Warriors wore while warming up were not just clichés, but included links to relevant organizations.

A brief story “around the league”: Quin Snyder has resigned as coach of the Utah Jazz, citing the team’s need for new blood. He’s probably right, since the team may be pending a review.
It’s funny that he waited until the Los Angeles Lakers hired their own head coach before making the announcement. At least they would have liked an interview.
Predictions
I had the Celtics winning one of the two on the road to start this series, so I finally think I’ll be here in a more general sense. Of course, I made them win this game originally, not game 1. So, in a more precise sense of the term, I was wrong the first time. Whatever it is, everything will be washed out.
So to make my broadest prediction come true, I have to predict that the Warriors will win today to match the series. Maybe Warriors 101-98 Boston Celtics. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either.
Yes, that’s how my brain works. No, I have no real basketball argument to support this claim other than “vibrations” (and the fact that the Celtics have had a problem with, uh, not riding momentum after big wins this postseason). This seems like a long, chaotic series, so why not guess any outcome ruins as many narratives as possible. Clothes before the match
Both the Celtics and Warriors wore orange T-shirts before the game with “End Armed Violence” messages. A nice gesture and it’s always nice to see how two teams come together just before devoting the next few hours to destroying each other.
There’s a program called “The Final Straw” that now does ABC (produced by Peyton Manning) and … is that just Jenga: The Television Show?
Injury report
Potentially bad news for Golden State. Game 1 had a clean injury list (even Boston’s Sam Hauser ended up playing, though when the benches were emptied), but Game 2 won’t. A few hours ago it was announced that veteran Andre Iguodala would come out with a swollen knee. He’s really been more of a part-time player for the Warriors, but he’s still been a capable contributor and the Warriors would rather have him available than not.
However, the good news far outweighs the bad news. After being available as an emergency for the first game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has said Gary Payton II should be available to play from the bench tonight. The son of defensive genius Gary “The Glove” Payton (in case you want to feel old), Payton II (who has been nicknamed “The Mitten”) has been a key part of the Warriors’ resurgence this season.
Preamble
You can’t predict basketball. When the Golden State Warriors got a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter over the Boston Celtics, I predicted, “So can Boston recover from a 12-point deficit? Not impossible, but Tatum will need a big game and the defense will have to be impeccable. “
Well, I was half right. The Celtics had to play an impeccable defense, keeping the Western Conference’s most powerful attack just 16 points away, but Tatum didn’t score a single point from there. In fact, on Thursday he only scored 12 points, the same amount of assists he handed out (credit to Tatum for not letting an offside night of shooting prevent him from helping his team in other ways).
Thus, the Warriors lost a double-digit advantage late, at home, in a day in which they had done everything possible to contain the best player of their rival. They now lose 0-1 in an NBA Finals where almost everyone (including this writer) had them as favorites. That means today’s second game is the most important game they’ve had to play since Kevin Durant was still in the lineup.
So, they come back tonight with a big win or the Celtics run with the momentum of their shocking first game win and take over the 2022 NBA season. I have my own predictions, but I will wait and let you guess what they might be. Let me say that this postseason is like the last season of “Better Call Saul.” It will not go as any of us think.

A contest that began with Stephen Curry’s three-point production line working overtime ended Horford’s much less predictable show by scoring from a distance and inspiring his teammates to do the same as they reversed. a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
A 15-year NBA veteran who made his first appearance in the finals a day before his 36th birthday, Horford was the Celtics’ top scorer with 26 points, including six triples, the highest of his career. .
