Police are investigating the death of a 31-year-old man who is said to have died while swimming at Three Mile Lake in Windsor Junction, NS on Saturday night.
Emergency crews responded to a call around 9pm of a drowning, the RCMP said on Sunday in a press release.
“The man was found in the water at 1:48 a.m. today by Halifax Ground Search and Rescue using a side-scan sonar and was pronounced dead at the scene,” the statement said.
RCMP spokesman Sergeant. Andrew Joyce said the man was not alone in the lake, adding that the person who alerted police was with the man when he entered the water.
Police learned at the scene that the man entered the water to retrieve an object, Joyce said.
