A Baltimore suburban police officer fired after exchanging gunfire with the suspect

A Maryland police officer was shot and treated Saturday for life-threatening injuries.

The officer was shot at Towson after answering a call inside an apartment complex at 8:40 p.m. when they encountered an armed suspect, according to Fox Baltimore.

Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect, leaving a police officer with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was pronounced dead after the shooting, according to the report.

Police also found a person inside the apartment with life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

According to the report, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski said the officer should be fully recovered.

“A Baltimore County police officer was shot last night while responding to an emergency call. “I did not know how to protect the community. I visited the officer at the hospital and was told that I should wait for a full recovery.”
