NASA research revealed that the seals on these screws deteriorated to a certain extent as they aged and implemented torque checks to tighten the affected hardware.

Other repairs were also aimed at fixing SLS cryload problems. A helical check valve was replaced at the ICPS and modifications were made to the umbilical boots responsible for the rapid disconnection of the MLS arms from the SLS during takeoff.

With the Artemis 1 battery missing from Pad 39B for the past five weeks, launch complex upgrades were able to advance ahead of schedule. Above all, the NASA contractor who supplies the infrastructure that manages and supplies nitrogen gas to the launch pad was able to nearly double the capacity of the facility by adding a second method to produce the gas.

Large amounts of nitrogen gas are used during the rehearsal of wet suits, as well as during the launch itself.
