Kotoni Staggs suffered a dislocated finger during training, but is expected to be right to make his debut at Origin on Wednesday night alongside fellow debutants Ryan Matterson and Stephen Crichton. Matterson and Crichton have been named on the bench, although it is worth looking at the final lists of teams to see if the latter is a surprise late change with Jack Wighton, who was named to the centers.

Eels Reagan executor Campbell-Gillard also returns to his Origin game from 2018, joining Panthers vanguard forward Liam Martin on the bench, with Cameron Murray switching to a lead with Tariq Sims while Isaah Yeo occupies the blocking paper.

Reserves Apisai Koroisau (Panthers) and Joseph Suaalii (Roosters) left the camp at the weekend to play with their respective clubs in round 13.

No late changes are expected for the Maroons, who will also have four newcomers: Cowboys duo Reuben Cotter and Jeremiah Nanai along with Broncos Patrick Carrigan and Selwyn Cobbo. Manly’s Daly Cherry-Evans will lead the team for the 10th time in a row and is surrounded by familiar faces at the bottom line with Kalyn Ponga, Valentine Holmes, Dane Gagai, Xavier Coates and Cameron Munster.

Ben Hunt will start as a prostitute with Harry Grant arriving late at camp after fighting the flu and a groin problem. However, he confirmed to reporters that he would be right to play, as the Maroons are looking to recover from last year’s series defeat.

Reservations Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Murray Taulagi returned from one football club field to another in North Queensland over the weekend.
