COVID-19 update on June 7, 2022

WA Health reports a total of 5,787 new cases as of 8:00 pm last night. There are currently 38,598 active cases in Western Australia.

As of 8pm last night, there were 290 people with COVID-19 in the hospital, 15 in the ICU.

Unfortunately, today’s report includes two new deaths dating back to May 3 that were reported yesterday to WA Health; a man of about 90 and a man of about 70.

Due to confidentiality requirements, the Department will not provide further information on such cases.

Notes

  1. These data are based on the residential zip code of each case. The case may have an isolation address in another region.
  2. The remaining reported daily cases (76) do not yet have an assigned region. The data will continue to be reconfigured as this information is verified.

Of the 5,787 cases, 1,319 were confirmed by PCR testing, the remaining 4,468 were self-reported positive antigen rapid tests.

A total of 7,885 PCR tests were performed yesterday at public or private pathology clinics.

WA has reported 781,496 cases since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
