The update basically allows all major console drivers to be compatible with iPhone and iPad devices, including PlayStation 5 DualSense, Xbox Series X / S drivers, and now Switch Joy-Con. Unfortunately, if you have the following devices, you will not be able to download the latest operating system:

  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone SE (1st generation)

However, for other iPhone owners, you can start using your Joy-Con on compatible iOS devices when the new operating system is released to the public in the fall. In the meantime, the developer beta is available right now with a public beta that will be released soon, in case you want a preview.

What do you think of the added Joy-Con functionality to iOS devices? Will you try it out when it hits the public in the fall? Let us know!
