Justin Bieber says he will postpone two concert dates in Toronto this week because it is a persistent illness.
The pop star raised in Stratford, Ont., Was scheduled to perform at Scotiabank Arena on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of his World Justice tour. He will also postpone an appointment in Washington, DC, on Friday.
In a post on his Instagram stories, Bieber lamented the decision:
“I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’ve done everything to improve, but my illness is getting worse,” he wrote.
“It breaks my heart that I will have to postpone these next shows (doctor’s orders). I love all your people very much and I will rest and improve!”
He gave no further details about the illness.
The announcement came hours before Bieber would take to the stage for Toronto’s first show.
“Due to a non-COVID-related illness, the Justice Tour has postponed this week’s Toronto and DC shows,” according to a statement from Scotiabank Arena operator Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment on Tuesday.
“Keep your tickets, as they will be respected when the rescheduled dates are announced soon.”
It is the latest setback for Bieber’s appointments in Toronto, which have already been delayed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was originally scheduled to play in the city in 2020 as part of the change tour, which revolved around an album he released that year.
These dates were then brought forward to 2021 before they met for the second time in 2022. He played one of Toronto’s three shows in March with the intention of returning on June 7th and 8th.
