Uvalde actor and native Matthew McConaughey has taken the lead in the White House to call for a gun reform following the devastating school shooting that took place last month.
In a touching 22-minute speech, the True Detective star shared stories of victims and their families of the Robb Elementary School massacre – where 19 children and two teachers were murdered – in hopes of encouraging the Congress to approve weapons reforms that can save lives without violating them. on the rights of the second amendment.

“We want safe and secure schools and we want gun laws that don’t make it so easy for the bad guys to get the damn guns,” McConaughey said.
“We need to restore our American values and we need responsible gun ownership.
“We need to invest in mental health, we need safer schools, we need to restore family values, we need responsible gun ownership, we need background checks, we need red flag laws, we need to raise the minimum age to buy an AR- Rifle from 15 to 21.

“These regulations are not a step backwards, they are a step forward for a civil society and the Second Amendment.
“Is this a cure all? Damn not. But people suffer, families, parents.”
The 52-year-old man left without answering questions from members of the press.

McConaughey revealed that he met with several families of victims after the shooting at the school, recalling that a young victim, 9-year-old Maite Rodriguez, had to be identified by her green Converse shoes.
“Those same Green Conversations at her feet turned out to be the only clear evidence that could identify her after the shooting,” the actor said as his voice was broken.
His touching speech received an emotional response on Twitter.
“Perhaps the saddest thing on the Internet today,” one user wrote.
