A 12-year-old schoolgirl who died after being hit by a van is now named Lexi McDavid.
She was hit by a white Mercedes van as she got off the bus at Princess Drive on Tuesday, June 7, according to Merseyside police. Emergency services rushed to the scene around 3:30 p.m.
Police confirmed that the driver of the van remained at the scene and continues to assist the police with the investigation of the facts. They call anyone who has witnessed the incident or has information to contact them as soon as possible, reports Liverpool Echo.

Detective Sergeant Andy Roper of the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts and condolences this morning are deep on Lexi’s family, who have lost their lives at a tragically young age. , and receive the support of specialized officers.
“An investigation is underway and we ask that anyone who has witnessed the collision or captured anything on the dashboard or other devices and has not yet submitted it do so as soon as possible. Your “Information could be vital to our investigation. All information will be acted upon directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers.”
