A motorcyclist transported to hospital after an accident in Kitchener

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital on Wednesday morning after an accident in Kitchener.

The collision occurred around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Victoria Street North and Lackner Boulevard.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service said a motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved in the crash.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 22-year-old Kitchener man, was taken by air ambulance to a hospital outside the region.

Police said his injuries were serious but did not endanger his life.

The closure caused delays for commuters on Wednesday morning with barricades set up at nearby intersections.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision and say there are pending charges.
