Bombshell claims he was heard on the phone at Chris Dawson’s murder trial

Sensational claims have been made in Chris Dawson’s murder trial, as his identical twin Paul points the finger at his brother’s school lover.

Paul Dawson testified for a second day at Tweed Heads where he described his brother as the least violent man he has ever met.

A secret phone call from the 1999 twins was played on the Supreme Court after Paul was criticized by detectives for the disappearance of his sister-in-law Lynette.

“It indicated that something had happened to Lyn and that you were right,” Paul said in the phone call.

“They think something has happened to Lyn and I was right and they’ll look for the property and do all sorts of things. Well, good luck to them,” Chris replied.

“If anyone had the reason, (JC) had more,” Paul said.

“JC,” as she has been identified in court proceedings, was the babysitter of the family before she began an affair with Chris Dawson and later became his second wife.

The Crown alleges that Chris Dawson killed Lynette so she could have a “free relationship” with her schoolgirl.

But Paul downplayed his startling indictment under the interrogation of Crown prosecutor Craig Everson, SC.

“If Lyn had been murdered, JC had a reason, JC had more to gain and JC would have earned more than Chris ever earned with their relationship,” Paul told the court.

The twin also recalled a conversation with his now-deceased family friend Elva McBay, who told him that Lynette had been threatened at a birthday party.

“JC just said that if he got in his way … he would get rid of her,” Paul McBay said.

The court also overheard a phone call where the twins talk about where Lynette might be.

“Or Lyn is somewhere with a whole new life,” Paul said on the recording.

“Or something happened, I mean,” Paul said.

“She could be anywhere,” Paul said.

Paul said he has been keeping a close eye on media reports of his twin’s trial and described Chris’ allegations of violence as “the most outrageous”.

He said that during the 17 years that his brother and Lynette were together, he did not even hear a derogatory comment.
