“Our Lives Will Never Be the Same Again”: Broken Mother’s Tribute to Alleged Murder Victim Kieran Williams

The mother of the alleged murder victim Kieran Williams has spoken today about her grief and lovelessness.

The body of the 18-year-old was found on Thursday in Sunderland, about six weeks after he disappeared from his home in the city.

Two men have now appeared in court on charges of Kieran’s murder.

And today his grieving mother, Tracey, has spoken of her agony.

He paid tribute to his son in a statement, saying: “My beautiful child: Kieran had the most beautiful smile and eyes that light up a room.

“He was such a happy and lucky guy that he loved life and always smiled, doing his boxing posture and listening to his music.

“We are devastated, overwhelmed and overwhelmed.

“We can’t believe we’ll never see him again. Our lives will never be the same.”

Kieran had studied at Sunderland College and a university spokeswoman described him as a “popular student”.

He said: “We are deeply moved and saddened to learn of Kieran’s death. Kieran, who left college in 2021, was a popular student. We extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends.”

Ben Cook, 19, and Louis Hackett, 19, are believed to have killed 18-year-old Kieran Williams on April 18 and made their first appearance in Newcastle Crown Court this week.

Kieran was reported missing at his home on Esplanade West in Sunderland on 18 April. After a major search operation, his body was found in Pallion, near the Northern Spire Bridge.

Cook, of Fordfield Road, Sunderland, and Hackett, of Fordenbridge Square, Sunderland, appeared in court with video links from custody. An interim trial date has been set for October with an estimated 10 days. There were no bail requests and both were remanded in custody.

Judge Paul Sloan QC told them, “I am adjourning your case for a new pre-trial hearing on July 5. I have also set the date for your trial on October 31.

“If you have committed any crime resulting from this complaint, the sooner you report it to the court, the better for you, the more credit you will receive, the less severe the punishment will be. the worse you get, the more severe the punishment. “

Two men, aged 20 and 28, a 46-year-old woman who were also arrested in connection with the investigation, remain on police bail.

Detective Matt Steel of the Northumbria Police Chief Investigation Team is leading the investigation into Kieran’s death.

He said: “Our deepest condolences remain to Tracey and Kieran’s family at this extremely difficult time.

“We will continue to support them as much as we can.”
