Erik ten Hag has not been punched in the first few days of his reign at Manchester United and has reportedly sent an email to the team detailing his expectations as he reminds them that there is no room for to the egos.
The Dutchman has arrived from Ajax and is in charge of a major reconstruction at Old Trafford over the next few years.
Last season’s mistakes revealed many of the club’s flaws and he finally lost to Champions League football and finished sixth.
Bad performances on the pitch were made worse by rumors of discontent in the locker room and the explosion of the training ground. The United team is full of quality names and great personalities, but Ten Hag has told them to put the team first or risk being replaced by a young man from the club.

He also spoke about the need to be fit and promised to keep them fit as long as they support their methods. A source told The Sun: “The new gaffer sent an email to the first team players, telling them that football is a team game and that no individual is more important than any other. His emphasis is on all on the team, even though United have world-class stars – they want players to train at a higher intensity so that every session is like a game.
“Players have been told that their level of fitness will be the best they have ever been and that if they stick to it and support it, they will be fine. If not, they will go out the door. “And if they can’t, he’ll replace them with some of the promising youngsters.”
Ten Hag gave little during his first press conference while evaluating his team, many of whom have not kept their promise at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal have not been able to achieve their goals in recent years.
