These are the road and subway closures in Toronto this weekend (June 11-12)

Some special events and festivals taking place in Toronto this weekend will close numerous city streets.

If you go out on Saturday and Sunday, here is a list of road closures and public transportation to consider.

ACTIVETO

The following lanes will be closed from 7 am on Saturday until 7 pm on Sunday:

  • Bayview Avenue from Rosedale Valley Road to Lawren Harris Square

  • River Street from Bayview Avenue and Spruce Street

  • The Meadoway from Brimley Road to Scarborough Golf Club Road

TTC

There will be no subway service on line 1 between Lawrence and St. Paul stations. Clear this weekend due to construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

In addition, on Sunday, the metro service on line 2 between the stations of St. George and Broadview will begin at noon to accommodate the replacement of the beam on the Price Edward Viaduct.

EVENTS / FESTIVALS

Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraiser

  • Lanes westbound on Lake Shore Boulevard West will be closed from Strachan Avenue to Windermere from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday

Grilled Cheese Challenge Festival

  • The two lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard West between Seventh and Second Streets from 5 am to 11:59 pm Saturday

Run for Women

  • Queens Park Crescent East and West will be closed from College Street to Bloor Street West from 12:01 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The event will support the Department of Psychiatry at Women’s College Hospital

Word party in the street

  • Queens Park Crescent East and West, from Wellesley Street to Bloor Street West, will be closed from 10:30 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Portugal Day Parade

  • Lansdowne Avenue will be closed between Bloor Street West and Colleges Street from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Canadian Open RBC

  • Islington Avenue from Eglinton Avenue West to The Kingsway will be closed until June 17 for the golf tournament.

GO IN TRANSIT

There will be no GO train service on the Stouffville line from 9pm Friday to Sunday. Instead, buses will run between the Union Bus Station terminal and Unionville, Centennial, Markham, Mount Joy, Stouffville and Old Elm stations. Buses will not run at Kennedy, Agincourt or Milliken GO stations.

There will also be no GO afternoon train service on the Lake Shore West line to Aldershot and West Harbor stations on Friday. Users can take the 18S route from the GO Bus.

CONSTRUCTION CLOSURES

  • Jarvis Street from Carlton Street to Bloor Street East, including Ted Rogers Way, is reduced to one lane in each direction for road renovation, sidewalk repairs, and safety modifications at intersections.

  • Wellesley Street East from the streets of Ontario to Sherbourne is reduced to a westbound lane for the reconstruction of bike lanes and roads.

  • Wellington Street from Yonge to Church Streets is reduced to a westbound lane for TTC road replacement and sidewalk improvements.

  • The traffic lanes on The Queensway between Parkside Drive and Roncesvalles Avenue are reduced to a minimum of one lane shared in each direction for TTC King-Queen-Queensway-Roncesvalles (KQQR) road replacement and reconstruction work. King Street West is also closed at the KQQR intersection.

TIME

On Saturday there will be a mixture of sun and clouds with a 30 percent chance of showers. The maximum will be 23 C. On Sunday, wet conditions are expected, with showers in the forecast. The maximum will be 22 ÂșC.
