Apple CEO Tim Cook believes augmented reality is the future. We know this because, in recent years, it has not stopped talking about the potential of this nascent technology. However, he did not even mention it during the WWDC despite several reports suggesting that Apple could use the event as a springboard for its upcoming headphones.
We weren’t expecting hardware, which will arrive later this year or 2023, but there was some mention on the rumored realityOS software platform. After all, Apple needs to get developers to create and bring applications quickly to the new environment. He did so successfully with his custom M1 chips, which he revealed long before MacMs arrived with ARM.
That’s not to say there weren’t any subtle clues about what Apple is planning. New iOS, macOS or iPadOS features are ripe for integration into RA platforms. Take, for example, additional 3D map views in Apple Maps or enhanced Live Text in iOS. It’s easy to see how useful they can be on metaAppleverse.
If you’re still curious about what Apple is preparing, recent rumors suggest that its AR headphones will be full of advanced technology and could cost up to $ 3,000.
