The U.S. House of Representatives is advancing on more arms control measures despite the slim chances of success in the Senate.
The House has passed an arms control measure that gives federal courts the ability to remove weapons from people who are determined to be at risk for themselves and others through red-flag laws and increase funding with similar laws that are already in the books.
“We cannot avoid the fact that these are weapons, their availability, their age and their condition in terms of person,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
