Drew Barrymore couldn’t help but remember his lovely 1998 film, “Ever After,” as he reflected on the wedding of singer and friend Britney Spears.
“What I learned from Ever After is that we have to rescue ourselves and we still want the fairy tale. And that’s exactly what Britney did!” Barrymore, 47, shared Instagram on Friday night along with snapshots of the event, including one from the host of the talk show between the bride and her guest partner, Selena Gomez.
“I couldn’t be happier for your intrepid journey !!!!!!!”, she concluded before detailing her look for the occasion, including a chocolate Valentino haute couture dress.
Spears’ journey to the alter has been a long one, as his previous guardianship prevented him from marrying or having children.
Following the termination of her guardianship, Spears has prospered in her relationship with her new husband, Sam Asghari.
In addition to Barrymore and Gomez, the exclusive evening was also attended by Madonna, Paris Hilton and Donatella Versace, who designed Spears’ dress for their fairytale wedding.

However, Spears’ separated parents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, were not present, nor were their children, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15.

Apparently, his brother, Bryan Spears, received an invitation, but apparently he did not attend either.
The 40-year-old pop star and 28-year-old Asghari got engaged in September 2021 after nearly five years of dating.
