Cuts and bruises Vanessa Evans says she received after a road rage incident.
A Kelowna woman says she was pushed to the ground in a road rage incident last week.
Vanessa Evans tells Castanet she was on her way home on Wednesday, June 8, on Highway 97, when the incident happened. Turn right onto Leathead Rd. but had difficulty entering the right-of-way lane after the intersection of Highway 33.
“I find my opening and proceed with my lane change when this GMC comes out of nowhere,” he said. “I corrected quickly and went back to my original lane.”
Evans says it was hard for him then to get into his lane, so he admits to having to cut in front of the other vehicle and saw the other driver hit the brakes.
“I took an evasive action and moved in the right lane to avoid heavy braking, which eventually caused me to have to slow down,” Evans said.
After that, she says the other driver started driving aggressively, driving back and forth behind her playing the horn for two blocks.
Once she made her turn, she says she saw the other driver following her so she stopped.
“Get out of my vehicle, she gets out of her vehicle and starts calling me ‘crazy bitch’ and all kinds of names.”
Evans says when she started to leave, the other driver grabbed her and pushed her to the ground.
“I suffered a severe bruise on my wrist and arm and a nasty rash on my right knee,” Evans said.
The incident was reported to the RCMP, but despite taking pictures of the other driver and the license plate, Evans says police told him they could not locate the offending driver. Castanet has asked police for comments.
“The unfortunate part is that the plaques are not registered with the woman. So it could still be a threat to other people, “Evans said.
