The latest public release of iOS 16 announced by Apple’s WWDC 2022 is still a few months away, but if you can’t contain your excitement for the new operating system (OS), get your hands on the beta for developers is not too problematic; you need a compatible iPhone and an Apple Developer account.
It is worth noting that getting an Apple Developer account incurs a $ 118.99 annual subscription cost, so only proceed if you’re okay with spending that kind of money. It’s also worth noting that the first beta for iOS 16 developers is called the beta for developers for a reason. The operating system will surely have some unstable elements, as it is something that Apple is still actively polishing. The easiest way to get an Apple Developer account is through the Apple Developer app. Download the app from the App Store and go to the “Account” section of the app. The app will ask you to sign in with your Apple ID and then click the “Sign Up Now” button.
You must then agree to the Apple Developer Account Agreement and let Apple know whether you are an individual, an organization, a non-profit organization, an educational institution, or the government. Choose the one that fits your description and move on. You will now be taken to the payment screen where you will be informed about the annual recurring cost of the subscription, how to cancel it, what the subscription includes and more.

Once you have your hands on a developer account, the rest of the download procedure is simple.
Go to developer.apple.com on your iPhone, tap the menu on the left, and tap “Discover.” You will be taken to a new operating system page and you will need to tap “iOS”.
Tap ‘Download’ in the top right and sign in with your Apple Developer account credentials. Tap “Download” again after signing in, and you’ll see that your iOS beta software profile has started downloading.
Once the download is complete, go to your iPhone’s settings and tap “Downloaded profile” under the banner of your Apple ID, tap “Install,” and enter your device password. Give your consent and tap “Install” again. Once the installation is complete, restart your device.
Then upgrade your iPhone as you normally would. Go to Settings> General> Software Update> Download & Install and you’re ready to go. The update is about 5 GB, so it may take a while to complete, after which the device will automatically reboot and install the new operating system, allowing you to try all the new stuff and iOS 16 features such as customizable, updated lock screens.
