The Yankees are making a fuss about the Cubs’ Twitter account

On Saturday, in the Yankees ’first inning against the Cubs, a push from Giancarlo Stanton’s line caused oh and aah among the Bronx fans as he flew toward the fences.

Cubs center fielder Christopher Morel walked back to the warning court, put on his glove, and stole a potential homer from Stanton. The capture silenced the crowd. Chicago decided to go on Twitter and mocked Yankees fans who “think it’s all a home run” and unknowingly the Cubs broke up for the rest of the weekend.

At the bottom of the quarter, spirits erupted again when Stanton hit one of the hardest homers in StatCast history. By the end of Saturday, the Yankees had six homers in a row to secure an 8-0 victory.

And on Sunday, the Bronx Fire Department destroyed the Cubs with 18 throws, including four dingers.

In response, the Yankees ‘Twitter account applauded the Cubs’ previous tweet, which came out too soon. The Bronx Fire Department made 11 home runs in the three combined games, 10 of which took place between Saturday and Sunday.

“Maybe it’s all a home run?” The Yankees teased on Sunday on Twitter, accompanied by a GIF of a bucket hat with Néstor Cortés spinning his index finger.

The Cubs’ final response on Sunday was a tweet saying “Final: Yankees 18, Cubs 4”.
