Sky News presenter Sharri Markson says there have been “accusations of sabotage from the Liberal ranks” during the federal election.
“New South Wales Treasurer and climate change champion Matt Kean has been caught intervening in the election campaign that Scott Morrison was fighting bitterly,” Markson said.
“Just 11 days before election day, Kean sent a message to a young travel journalist with Morrison, encouraging her to continue the political controversy over Warringah candidate Katherine Deves.”
Ms Markson said the NSW treasurer has denied the allegations and claims she was “doing everything in her power to help Morrison win”.
Kean told Sky News Australia on Sunday that there had only been a “slight joke” on his behalf.
