MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A storm system leaves Minnesota on Monday afternoon, with dangerous and “excessive” heat.
A storm complex moved over the Dakotas and weakened overnight, but still brought heavy rains to parts of Minnesota, especially south and southwest. WCCO weather watchers recorded up to 4.75 inches of rain in Waseca and more than 3 inches of rain in Owatonna.

The rain will subside as we head into the afternoon, but it will remain cloudy until evening. The subway will reach 83 degrees. Southern Minnesota will reach the 1990s, while northern Duluth and Arrowhead Highs will only reach the 50s.

Tuesday will be the next day of weather alert due to dangerous heat. The maximum, predicted for 97 per meter, can break a record daily maximum temperature, which was set at 98 in 1987. The heat index will increase to three digits. An excessive heat warning has been issued for the Twin Cities, while much of southern Minnesota is under excessive heat surveillance.

Storms will pass through parts of the state from Tuesday to Wednesday night.
We will have a quiet weekend.
It will go down in the 80s from Wednesday to Friday, with the return of extreme heat possible next weekend.
