A man was punched repeatedly in the face and stomach for one night in Woolton.
The 46-year-old victim was enjoying a night out with family friends at the Allerton Road Loft when he was attacked. He was in the smoking shelter outside the compound when a man punched him in the stomach and left at around 1.20am on Sunday 29 May.
Officers say the suspect returned to the shelter and repeatedly hit him in the face and torso, before leaving the bar and heading for Menlove Avenue. The victim was seriously injured in the face after the assault.

He was treated at the hospital for his injuries, but has now been discharged and is recovering at home. Merseyside police have now released a picture of a man they would like to talk to about the incident.
They believe that the man in the photo will be able to help with the investigation. DI Jennie Beck said: “This was a violent attack on a man who was enjoying a night out with friends and family in Liverpool. No one should have suffered such a shocking attack when he was in his hometown.
