Tottenham and Everton have bids for Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have signed contract offers for Christian Eriksen, who is also a Manchester United target.

According to the Daily Mail, Christian Eriksen is receiving offers from several major clubs in England, as Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have submitted contract proposals for the 30-year-old, along with Manchester United and Brentford.

Just over a year ago, Eriksen was involved in the shocking UEFA Euro 2020 incident while playing Denmark against Finland. After recovering enough from his heart disease, the game creator returned to football action last January, after joining Brentford on a free transfer.

Eriksen made a quick impact on his return and played a key role in helping the Bees maintain their Premier League club status, finishing with a goal and four assists in 11 games in the top flight. The Danish midfielder’s contract with the Bees expires in two weeks, and is arousing great interest from the clubs at the top of the table.

While Brentford are keen to extend their stay, Eriksen is also attracting a great deal of interest from Manchester United and former club Tottenham, while Everton are also interested as the three clubs are believed to have contract offers for the 30-year-old player.

Manchester United have lost two offensive midfielders this summer, with Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard leaving as free agents, while Paul Pogba has also left the club. Frenkie de Jong remains a priority for new coach Erik ten Hag, but the Dutchman is also open to signing Eriksen to add coverage and competition for Bruno Fernandes, with a contract offer already being made.

Meanwhile, Eriksen’s former club Tottenham Hotspur are also looking forward to re-signing the midfielder. The Lilywhites are ready to say goodbye to Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele. Although Yves Bissouma is about to arrive, Antonio Conte could use a creative element in midfield, especially with the Spurs’ participation in the UEFA Champions League, making Eriksen a viable goal.

Everton have apparently also entered the race to sign Eriksen and have proposed a contract offer for the next free agent. The move to sign Dele Alli from Tottenham has failed for the Toffees, while Donny van de Beek returns to Manchester United after his loan spell. So there is a vacancy in the middle of the field that looks like Frank Lampard is trying to fill by signing Eriksen.

The Danish international recently insisted he would like to play football in the Champions League again, which could add to Tottenham’s chances. With the 30-year-old not lacking in options, it will be interesting to see how he bows when it comes time to make the decision, with Brentford, Everton and Manchester United also hoping to convince him to join them.
