Everton are reportedly ready to sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski on a free transfer at the end of his contract.
The center-back has been with Burnley since 2016. He has since been signed by Brentford in the league.
Tarkowski has played 219 times for the Clarets in all competitions. He was called up twice with England in 2018.

The 29-year-old has consistently been Burnley’s best player in recent seasons.
With them suffering the relegation to the final day of the 2021/22 season, they were always going to fight to keep Tarkowski.
The experienced defender’s contract expires and Sky Sports reports that he has “agreed to join” Everton.
Tarkowski will sign a four-year contract and is understood to have “completed an agreed medical and personal term at Goodison Park.”
Elsewhere, Teddy Sheringham does not believe Tottenham Hotspur need Everton striker Richarlison amid reports linking him to a £ 51m transfer.
The Spurs are reportedly in “advanced talks” to sign the Brazilian international for a fee of £ 51 million.
Richarlison helped them stay in the Premier League in 2021/22. He has scored eight goals in his last ten league appearances.
The Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster and also look set to join Djed Spence and Yves Bissouma.
Sheringham doesn’t think Richarlison is a “statement signer” for Tottenham:
“I don’t think that’s what is needed now,” Sheringham told Lord Ping (via The Express).
“Tottenham have good attacking players; [Harry] Kane, [Heung-min] son, [Dejan] Kulusevski, [Steven] Bergwijn is still there, [Lucas] La Moura is still there. We have players in Richarlison’s mold and I don’t think it would be a statement signature that would worry the teams.
“If they had to sign him, what would be the result? In my time, when we signed [Jurgen] Klinsmann, a good world-class player, was all tanned in the locker room.
“We knew what we were going to get from him. You need players to take you to the next level and I don’t think Richarlison is one of them.”
