Mikel Arteta’s dream line-up for Arsenal if Fabio Vieira completes the summer transfer

The summer transfer window has only been open for a week, but Arsenal have wasted little time getting signings through the door. The Gunners announced that the wonderful Brazilian boy Marquinhos had joined from São Paulo earlier this week, while the agreed signing of Matt Turner from New England Revolution is expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Now, Arsenal seem to be approaching another signing after agreeing a deal with Porto for attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira. The Portuguese club have confirmed that the 22-year-old will move to London in a deal worth a total of £ 34 million which includes a potential £ 5 million in bonuses.

Vieira is predominantly an offensive midfielder, with the ability to play as number ten, as an offensive No.8 in a three-man midfielder on both sides. The left-footed master is similar to his fellow Portuguese star Bernardo Silva in some ways, given that the duo can drive with the ball at their feet and unlock defenses with precise passes, never leaving their defensive tasks.

If you have to believe Portugal’s under-21 coach Rui Jorge, Arsenal will have a very promising player if he wants to sign Vieira. Speaking of Vieira last year, Jorge said: “Fabio played a good game.

“He is a very technically advanced player, he is good to define, but he has to improve some aspects of his game to become a full-fledged player. He knows this and will work on these aspects. Fabio has a great future. “I think he wants to be the player he can be. I think we can meet a great player.”

The young game creator scored seven goals and offered a whopping 16 assists in all competitions in the last quarter, numbers that will be music for the ears of Arsenal fans. Although extremely versatile, it is likely that Vieira will function as a central midfielder with Mikel Arteta’s preferred 4-3-3 system.

That said, how could Arsenal see the start of the 2022/23 season with Vieira as the starting eleven for Arteta? Here, let’s take a look at how Arsenal could line up next season with the attacking midfielder on the sidelines.
