The Southeastern U.S. Coast Guard and associated agencies rescued 10 people on Friday and recovered two bodies after two boats collided in Key Biscayne, near Miami.
Helicopter crews and small boats from the Miami Beach Coast Guard station rescued 10 people and recovered a body of water. Miami-Dade firefighters recovered a second body of water.
“On behalf of the Coast Guard and our partner agencies, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to the families and friends who lost their loved ones,” said Miami Coast Guard Lt. . Benjamin Tuxhorn said in a statement Saturday. “The Coast Guard and our associated local agencies responded quickly and worked together extensively in this search and rescue case.”
An individual involved in the collision contacted the Coast Guard around 10:30 p.m. to report 12 people in the water a mile west of Key Biscayne.
A rescue boat rescued two seriously injured survivors, and the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported one to Jackson Memorial Medical Center for medical attention.

According to the Coast Guard, small boat crews from Miami Beach Station moved the remaining survivors to HCA Florida Mercy Hospital.
MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife is investigating the incident.
