JOHN TERRY has claimed that “statistics don’t lie” after Rio Ferdinand only labeled him the fifth-best center-back in Premier League history.
The Chelsea icon is considered by many to be one of the best defenders of the Prem era, winning the title five times.

Ferdinand, however, put THREE Manchester United midfielders ahead of old England team-mate Terry, including himself.
The Old Trafford hero was debating the best central midfielders of the Prem era with Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk for BT Sport.
And Ferdinand placed first, followed by his teammate Nemanja Vidic, Van Dijk in third, Jaap Stam fourth and Terry fifth.
Van Dijk, meanwhile, has been omitted and has also put Ferdinand up, followed by Vincent Kompany, Stam, Terry and Sami Hyypia.
One man, however, who disagreed was Terry, a staunch supporter of Stamford Bridge.
In his Instagram story, Terry posted an image that contained a variety of statistics to give him a backup.
It includes the captains with the most Prem titles and the central ones with the highest percentage of victories in the history of Prem.
Both were headed by Terry, who captioned the post “opinions are great, but statistics don’t lie.”

Another statistic showed Terry’s multiple inclusion in Fifa World XI and another of him on the list of the highest-scoring defenders of all time.
Ferdinand, however, praised Terry as he conversed with Van Dijk.
He told Terry: “In terms of his longevity at this club, what they won, the body on the line, a footballer much better than people attribute to him, he could play with his left and right foot.”
However, it was still not enough for Ferdinand to consider him above the fifth on his all-time list.
