Residents have been evacuated from their homes after a house in Burnley collapsed this afternoon (June 20).
Emergency services are on the scene after the incident, which is believed to have affected people living on several properties. Citizens have been advised to avoid several roads in the area.
There is a police cordon, even on Sefton Terrace and Piccadilly Road. This is a mostly residential area within walking distance of Burnley Manchester Road train station.
According to agents, there have been evacuations of “several properties.” A Lancashire Constabulary spokesperson on social media says: “Please note that we are currently facing a house collapse on Sefton Terrace in Burnley.
“Emergency services are at the scene and several properties have been evacuated. We are urging people to avoid the area, especially around Piccadilly Road and Sefton Terrace.”
