Local news armed robbers target two businesses in St. Louis John’s

Two businesses were attacked overnight by thieves.

Shortly after 9 p.m., police responded to the Halliday Meat Market on Gower Street in downtown St. Louis. John’s, where a man had threatened the staff with a gun while trying to rob the business.

Police say the 33-year-old man destroyed the cash register during the incident and was detained by staff until the RNC arrived.

He was slightly injured during the fight and was checked by paramedics before being taken to jail.

The suspect was charged with armed robbery and threats.

About an hour later, police responded to another armed robbery, this one at Marie’s Mini-Mart on Thorburn Road.

A suspicious man threatened the staff with a gun and came out with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police called the K9 unit but are still looking for the suspect.
