The Raptors pick Christian Koloko in 33rd place in the 2021-22 draft

The Toronto Raptors officially have someone nine feet tall nine on the list. Christian Koloko is a seven-foot center from a Cameroonian who plays a lot in defense. The fit goes beyond that.

He started playing basketball late in his life, so the argument there, as it was for Pascal Siakam, is that he has a latent development left in the tank. He is also from Douala, the same hometown as Siakam.

Koloko played three years in college for Arizona before coming out in 2021-22, averaging 12.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. He had touch from the line and was a better passenger than his numbers showed. For now we will have many more options in the selection, but above all … damn … what a selection of Raptors.
