Katie Price has escaped jail after violating a restraining order that blocked contact with her ex-husband Kieran Hayler’s girlfriend, Michelle Penticost.
The former glamor model, 44, has received an 18-month community order to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work, with an additional 20 hours for non-compliance with a suspended sentence for driving issues.
Price showed no emotion when the verdict was announced, but smiled briefly as he stepped off the dock.
He pleaded guilty last month to breach of a restraining order and appeared Friday morning in Lewes Crown court for sentencing.
Reality TV star and mother of five sent a “highly offensive and inflammatory” text message to Mr Hayler describing his promise as “rogue shit” and “c ***** gw *** * “.
She had been barred from contacting Mrs Penticost directly or indirectly, under a five-year removal order imposed on Horsham Court of First Instance on 3 June 2019, and had been fined £ 415 for throwing a malicious “abuse roll”. to her for a row in the school yard.
Apparently, the text was sent after Price learned of an Instagram post from Ms. Pentecost about how she had been mistreated by other people and how to deal with it.
Ms Penticost said the post was not related to Price, according to the prosecution.
The court learned that the crime was committed because of Price’s use of the words “tell her,” which was an indirect attempt to communicate with Ms. Pentecost.
Failure to comply with a protection order, such as a restraining order, carries a maximum prison sentence of five years.
In an impact statement from the victim read in court, Ms Penticost said the impact of Price’s breach of the restraining order had a “devastating effect” on her mental well-being.
She said: “The impact of what Katie has done is very annoying. I feel threatened and intimidated.”
Nicholas Hamblin, Price’s representative, said her client had pleaded guilty to the breach, but that she had a “misunderstanding” that the removal order “worked both ways.”
She said there was an element of “provocation” and that she had been “exaggerated because she felt she was being criticized.”
“He has shown signs of remorse, he accepts an indirect breach,” he added.
Last month, before the end of the proceedings, the judge warned the television and business personality that he was in “a very serious danger of going to jail,” adding: “Seriously, I hope I don’t come back to you. see here “.
Judge Stephen Mooney told Price today: “In my view, this crime was committed out of anger.
“The words you used were very offensive and inflammatory, so the breach cannot be considered mild.
“In my view, balancing the aggravating and mitigating factors, the appropriate ruling is a mid-level community order.”
Price was also ordered to pay £ 1,500 in court costs.
