Katie Price has avoided jail for sending an “angry and inflammatory” message to her ex-husband in breach of a restraining order barring her from contacting her new partner.
The 44-year-old glamorous model sent Kieran Hayler a message on January 21 this year in which she branded her new partner, Michelle Penticost, a “c — ing w —-” and a “channel s– -“.
She had pleaded guilty to breach of the restraining order and was sentenced to an 18-month community order with 150 hours of community service with an additional 20 hours for non-compliance with a suspended sentence for driving reasons.
She was also ordered to pay £ 1,500 in court costs.
Judge Stephen Mooney told Price: “In my view, this crime was committed out of anger.
“The words you used were very offensive and inflammatory, so the breach cannot be considered mild.
“In my view, balancing the aggravating and mitigating and aggravating factors, the appropriate judgment is a mid-level community order.”
Price showed no emotion when the verdict was announced, but smiled briefly as he stepped off the dock.
Price was barred from contacting Ms. Penticost directly or indirectly under a five-year restraining order imposed on Horsham Court of First Instance on June 3, 2019.
She was also fined £ 415 for throwing a “bullying roll” at her during a row in the school yard.
The court learned that her message to Hayler could have been provoked by an Instagram post by Mrs. Penticost, which she denies was addressed to Price.
Price’s message said, “Tell your c — ing w —-, piece of s —, girl, don’t start me.
“He has a restraining order, so I shouldn’t try to antagonize me because he’s infringing and I’m sure he doesn’t want people to know I was having an affair with you on my back. This channel is …” .
The court learned that the crime was committed because of Price’s use of the words “tell him,” which was an indirect attempt to communicate with Pentecost.
The message had a “devastating effect”
In an impact statement from the victim read in court, Ms Penticost said the rape had a “devastating effect” on her mental well-being.
He said: “The impact of what Katie has done is very annoying, I feel threatened and intimidated.
“I feel demoralized and I don’t feel like going out. The language used made me feel scared. I felt it was an attack on me.
“The consequences are that I feel like he will attack me. I felt that having a restraining order would make me feel safe, but that someone breaking it has made me feel very vulnerable.”
Price attended court in an all-green suit and was heard telling a reporter to “suck me —” after being asked about the prospects of a prison sentence.
