Disney sent an internal note to employees on Friday, assuring them it would help them pay for pregnancy-related care if they had to travel to a different state instead of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v.
Paul Richardson, director of human resources, and Pascale Thomas, vice president of business benefits and welfare, signed the note, which has been obtained by CNBC.

“Our company remains committed to removing barriers and providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all of our employees, cast members and their families, including family planning and reproductive care, regardless of location. where they live, ”Richardson and Thomas said in the note. .
“In fact,” they add, “we have established processes in place for an employee who is unable to access care in one location to have affordable coverage to receive similar levels of care elsewhere. This travel benefit covers medical situations related to cancer, treatments, transplants, treatment of rare diseases, and family planning (including pregnancy-related decisions).
Disney CEO Bob Chapek faced an internal backlash for not immediately condemning Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gays” legislation. This led to a change of face, in which Disney publicly stated it would help repeal the law after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, signed it in late March. The failed attempt at communication caused Disney’s head of communications, Geoff Morrell, to leave the company after only three months.
Disney has not made a separate public statement on the Supreme Court decision.
