Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the sudden death of a 23-month-old boy, who was found in a parking lot in Bancroft, Ont.
Police were called to a parking lot on Monck Road Thursday around 3:45 p.m., an OPP statement said.
The boy showed no vital signs when he was found, but an ambulance took him to the hospital, where he was soon pronounced dead.
The OPP Bancroft Crimes Unit and the OPP Forensic Identification Services are working with the Chief Forensic Office in the investigation.
An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death, police said.
Police said he is currently hiding the child’s identity.
