When it comes to colors, what options will you have with the Nothing Phone 1? Let’s find out…
Part of the appeal of Nothing Phone 1 is its design. The phone has a fairly unique transparent back panel design, though not as great as the leaks suggest, where you can see its internal components. Because of this design, however, the color schemes, at least at launch, are limited to a single color option: white.
Nothing Phone 1 Colors
The Nothing Phone 1 will be available in a single color option when it hits the market. The phone will be white with a transparent back panel, through which you can see some of its internal gubbins. This design dates back to Nothing’s first product launch, the Nothing Ear 1 wireless headphones.
What else do we know about the phone? Well, for starters, we know it will run Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778+ CPU along with 8GB of RAM. The phone will also ship with 128GB of serial storage, though there is no word on whether it will support MicroSD cards. The screen will be a 6.55-inch OLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the phone will run with Nothing’s custom Nothing operating system on top of Android 12.
As for other internal components, the Nothing Phone 1 is expected to ship with a 4500 mAh battery, with 45 W fast charging capabilities. You will also have support for WiFi 6, 5G and a fingerprint scanner lateral fingerprints. However, the Nothing Phone 1 won’t support a headphone jack, and it’s likely because Nothing wants you to buy your Nothing Ear 1 wireless headphones.
Nothing Phone 1 Price: what to expect …
In terms of pricing, the Nothing Phone 1 is expected to retail for around $ 500 / £ 500. The phone will have a release date on July 21, following its presentation on July 12. As with the first OnePlus phone, the Nothing Phone 1 will be available, at least initially, using an invitation-based system. Carl Pei has a lot of experience with this in the past, so he’s adopting it once again to create hype around the phone. So far, about 14,000 people have signed up for an invitation.
However, Nothing Phone 1 will not be released in the United States or Canada, and Nothing will focus its efforts on the UK, Europe and other markets. Given the price of the phone, I would assume it would be a huge hit in one of the most important phone markets on the planet right now, India. In fact, it seems that Indians make up the majority of those who have signed up for an invitation to Nothing Phone 1.
Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, said that while there will be no release date in the United States to begin with, that could change as things move forward and develop. The main reason the US market has been omitted is likely to be how closed it currently is: almost no brand outside of Apple, Samsung, Google and Motorola can consult US operators. And that needs to change if consumers are to be given more choice with which phones to buy and which not.
But if Xiaomi can’t take a look, I highly doubt that Nothing will be very successful …
