Smollett’s directorial debut, B-Boy Blues, premiered on June 9 on BET +. The drama is an adaptation of James Earl Hardy’s best-selling novel of the same name and follows the same-sex love story between a journalist with a college degree in Brooklyn and a bicycle messenger from Harlem.
