Alec Baldwin will interview filmmaker Woody Allen, plagued by scandals.
Baldwin made the announcement on his Instagram, revealing that he will conduct an Instagram Live interview with Allen on Tuesday morning. In a subtitle of his post, the actor anticipated the criticism he will face by writing, “Let me say that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone’s health trials and publications.”
He continued: “Obviously I’m someone who has my own set of beliefs and I COULD NOT MATTER anyone else’s speculations. If you think a trial should be made using an HBO documentary, that’s your problem.” .
Baldwin’s message referred to the HBO docuserie of Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, Allen v. Farrow, who is investigating a sexual abuse allegation made against Allen in 1992 by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, who was seven years old when the abuse allegedly occurred.
Although Farrow made public his allegations against Allen in 2013 and 2014, it wasn’t until the #metoo movement took off that the director would face a backlash. Allen has since become a sort of outcast in Hollywood, with Amazon Studios remarkably canceling a $ 68 million four-movie deal and his recent films have had trouble getting the distribution.
Baldwin d’Allen’s controversial interview comes amid the actor’s legal problems stemming from the deadly shooting at the West Rust set in October 2021. In that incident, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and director Joel Souza was injured when a live round was unloaded from a revolver used as a prop by Baldwin. The plaintiff is the target of multiple lawsuits for the incident.
