Summer residents who had been stranded at Norwich airport for two days have finally arrived in Mallorca after a 43-hour flight delay.
Some passengers spent two nights sleeping at the airport or in their cars while waiting for updates after delays on what was to be a Friday, June 24 flight.
The TUI flight to Palma should have left the airport at 7.20pm on Friday.
But when it finally took off, it was 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th.
Tormented summerer Terry Mack said: “I am 75 years old, I have traveled all over the world since I was 16 years old.
“Never in 59 years have I met people who are treated so horribly.”

A spokesman for travel company Tui said: “We would like to apologize to customers traveling with LAV5480 from Norwich Airport in Palma, which was unfortunately delayed due to a technical problem with the aircraft.
“We have reimbursed affected customers for both nights of their holiday, in addition to providing accommodation, meals and refreshments as needed. Customers will also be entitled to EU 261 compensation from the airline and have also been given the details of how to claim.
“We understand that last minute delays are incredibly disappointing and we would like to reassure customers that we are doing our best to keep them away from their holiday as planned.
“We would like to apologize again for the inconvenience to passengers traveling to Palma and thank them for their understanding.”
Passengers denied that Tui had kept them updated periodically, and some added that they had not been offered help with accommodation.
Norwich Airport was contacted for comment, but did not respond.
