Chris Martin delighted customers of a rural pub when he returned home from Glastonbury, playing the Coldplay song A Sky Full of Stars on the pub’s piano.
In the family setting of the Stag Inn in the village of Hinton Charterhouse, north of Somerset, he dedicated the performance to a pub couple who planned to have the song as their first dance at their wedding.
“It was one of those things where you say, ‘Run, this is happening,'” pub owner Chris Parkin told Sky News. “It was really brilliant, a brilliant moment.”
Martin, who visited Glastonbury and the pub with his girlfriend actor (and rumored girlfriend) Dakota Johnson, is a regular at the festival and also a performer. Coldplay has topped Glastonbury four times and also performed a set in the live version of the festival in 2021.
The band is now on hiatus during their world tour, which resumes on July 2 in Frankfurt before beginning their stage in the UK in August with six nights at Wembley.
