Former Lone Wolf cyclist Yusuf Nazlioglu has died after being shot in the interior of west Sydney, prompting a major police investigation.
Around 6:30 p.m., emergency services were called to Walker Street in Rhodes, where they found a man with gunshot wounds, NSW police said.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital in critical condition Monday night. NSW police confirmed Tuesday morning that he had died.
Police said the 40-year-old man was treated by paramedics from the NSW ambulance before being taken to hospital.
“Burwood PAC officers have established a crime scene and have initiated investigations,” an NSW police spokesman said.
Police were spotted cordoning off Rhodes ’central building, which includes a shopping mall, apartments and an underground car park.

Officers recorded an entrance to the elevators inside the building and near McDonald’s Rhodes.
He is understood to have been shot up to 10 times, even in the head.
Police are investigating a car that was set on fire nearby, but it is not yet known if the two facts are related.

On Monday evening there was a large police presence at the site, with officers seen gathered around an elevator in the building.
The confrontational video footage shows a bloody, heavily bandaged man as he leaves the building on wheels.
Police believe it was a targeted attack and have asked any witness or anyone with images from the dashboard to contact them.
Nazlioglu was accused of being one of the gunmen dressed in balaclavas who killed Comanchero chief Mick Hawi, but was found not guilty on the NSW Supreme Court in 2020.
Hawi received several shots after boarding his Mercedes in the Fitness First car park in Rockdale in February 2018.
The Crown alleged at the time that he and Nazlioglu were friends before a fight.
