As rumored last week, Sony has announced a new range of gaming-specific hardware, which includes two monitors and a trio of headphones. The line, called INZONE, is headed by the M9: a $ 899.99 27-inch IPS 4K monitor with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The panel matches the white and blue aesthetics of the PS5 and is marketed directly to next-generation console owners, as well as PC gamers, of course.
With a response time of 1 ms, the Japanese giant is aimed specifically at enthusiasts, and has even sponsored the EVO 2022 wrestling tournament, which it co-owns, of course. Specifically, the manufacturer promises automatic HDR tone assignment and states that when the screen is connected to a PS5, it will optimize the colors and output of the game you are playing. In addition, the panel will also feature an automatic genre image mode, which will toggle between low-latency game modes and movie modes, depending on what you do. The screen will also support all VRR-optimized games.
If all this seems a little too expensive, then Sony also offers a $ 529.99 alternative: the M3. This lowers the maximum brightness of the HDR from 600 nights to 400 nights and eliminates all of the auto-attenuation features mentioned above, but increases the refresh rate to 240 Hz and maintains the VRR. The downside is that it reaches 1080p, but you still get this very fast response time of 1 ms.

Elsewhere, there’s a trio of headphones, again designed to match the PS5’s aesthetic. These are the ones powered by the wireless H9, which promises 32 hours of battery life and digital noise cancellation. At $ 299.99, they’re expensive, but they include some pretty deep features, such as the fact that PC players can install a complementary app that allows them to install a custom spatial audio profile. Like Mark Cerny’s infamous presentation for PS5, the setup process will include taking pictures of the ears, which the company claims can help improve the audio output of the headphones.
If the flagship option is too expensive, there are alternatives in the form of $ 229.99 H7 and $ 99.99 H3, the last of which is wired. They all look similar, but obviously the sound quality drops to the H3 (while the H7 eliminates digital noise cancellation, but actually increases the battery life to 40 hours).

And yes, as mentioned above, the entire line will sponsor the next wrestling tournament, EVO 2022. “Making this announcement as part of INZONE’s global launch is another example of the momentum that is being generating for Evo 2022. We are excited to release new technologies so that our attendees can experience fighting games. Partners like Sony’s INZONE support our mission to create great experiences for our gamers and fans. “
