LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) – Britain and the West must ensure they have a balance in their dealings with China and are willing to face Beijing when necessary, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Thursday.
“We have a huge economic relationship with China … but at the same time we need to understand that there are areas where we have to compete, compete, and sometimes challenge what China is doing,” Johnson said in a news. conference at the NATO summit in Madrid.
“What we are doing around the world is making sure we have that balance and that we face China where it is needed.”
