The Saanich police department provided an update Thursday afternoon on the investigation of a robbery at an armed bank earlier this week.
Two suspects were killed Tuesday during an exchange of gunfire outside a Montreal bank on Shelbourne Street, a residential area of Saanich, south of Vancouver Island.
Six policemen were injured. Three of them remain in hospital, where police say they will undergo further surgeries and treatments in the coming weeks. Yesterday, Saanich police said explosive devices were found in a vehicle related to the suspects in the robbery and were safely disposed of at a local landfill.
Police say they have not yet ruled out the possibility of a third suspect, but have no information that leads them to believe there is any danger to the public.
