Bret Michaels was hospitalized Thursday night in Nashville, moments before taking the stage and performing with his band, Poison.
The 59-year-old rock star is currently being treated at a local hospital after suffering an apparent reaction to the medication caused by her diabetes, TMZ reported.
According to the media, Michaels ’bandmates took to the stage before the show to inform concert attendees of the situation, adding that they could not continue without him.
Fans were obviously baffled, with one person going to Twitter to lament, “He came from KC to see the poison. Bret Michaels was admitted to the hospital. There is no poison in Nashville.
At the moment, it is unclear whether Michaels or his band will perform at concerts scheduled for Saturday in Florida and Sunday in Mississippi.

The musician’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
While it’s unclear what caused his most recent incident, the singer has a history of sacrificing his health for his music.
In 2014, he was hospitalized six times in two weeks after kidney surgery.

His guitarist and longtime friend, Pete Evick, told fans at the time that Michaels had put two stents on his body and he performed again almost immediately, despite orders from doctors.
“I can’t explain how much blood or where it came from, but it was horrible on his bus after the show,” Evick explained at the time.
Michaels, who also has type 1 diabetes, underwent an emergency appendectomy in 2010. Shortly afterwards, he suffered a hemorrhage at the base of the brainstem.
