The long-awaited prequel to Despicable Me, Minions: Rise of Gru, has already broken a box office record during its previews on Thursday.
The film, which was slated for release in 2020 but was pushed back due to COVID, took first place for the highest-grossing animated feature in previews since the pandemic began.
After earning $ 10.5 million at the box office, the quirky animation not only surpassed its previous film, Minions, but also surpassed other great animations.

Steve Carell has reprized his role as Gru, giving voice to his younger version. He spoke about his experience with Digital Spy: “As soon as we start going through the dialogue, you start to feel it.
