An off-duty correction agent shot at the Queens motorcycle club party

Three people, including an off-duty correctional officer, were shot during a party at a Queens motorcycle club Sunday night.

The shooting took place during a barbecue and a motorcyclists meeting outside a Queens Village motorcycle club near Jamaica Avenue and 214th place shortly after 8 p.m., police said.

According to police sources, the off-duty commander, David Donegan, allegedly saw another man, Mark Gibbs, pulling out a gun and firing at a vehicle.

Donegan returned fire, hitting Gibbs three times around the body. Then another gunman shot Donegan and hit him once in the left leg, sources told the Post.

A third victim was also shot in the exchange of gunfire, which happened outside the Square Biz motorcycle club on his annual “Spazz Day” barbecue trip.

Hours before the shooting broke out, the motorcycle club posted videos of the event showing people dancing on “Cha Cha Slide,” a DJ playing street music and motorcycles on Jamaica Avenue.

The cheerful scene was replaced by the sound of gunfire, roaring ambulances and worn-out caps after the shooting. Police recovered three used suitcases from the scene.

The correctional officer was taken to Manhasset Hospital and Gibbs to Jamaica Hospital.

The third person killed is also being treated at a hospital in the area.

All three are expected to survive.
